Global warming is a fact. It represents a significant problem of politics, economics, society, technology, environment and ecology on a global level. Globally, the world has come to the end of an era when non-renewable energy sources can be the basis for planning future development. The solution is renewable energy sources.

Recognizing the importance of raising awareness about renewable energy sources and energy efficiency, and the benefits of their implementation, it is necessary to act. Therefore, through the project “Action for development and promotion of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency in the Municipality of Olovo” CENER 21 will work on the preparation of a feasibility study for the use of solar energy in public buildings under the jurisdiction of the Municipality, the implementation of a solar hot water system in a selected public building and the promotion of renewable sources and energy efficiency through the campaign called Plug into nature and save energy.

The main objective of the project is to promote the importance of implementing a system of renewable energy sources and the implementation of energy efficiency measures, especially in the public building sector for the purpose of economic growth and promotion of energy efficiency in general.

Within the Project, CENER 21 will implement the following activities:

  • Development of a feasibility study for the use of solar energy in public buildings under the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Olovo – The study will represent the overall assessment of the potential for solar energy at the locations of public buildings under the jurisdiction of the Municipality, as well as the prioritization of the buildings according to the potential for solar energy.
  • Installation of a solar hot water system on a public building under the jurisdiction of the Municipality, which is selected based on the prioritization in the Study – Based on the prioritization of buildings, the most suitable building will be selected and a solar system for hot water will be installed on it, all to reduce energy consumption for the selected building and to promote the possibility of installing solar systems on public buildings.
  • Conducting a promotional campaign on renewable energy sources and energy efficiency – The promotional campaign is related to the promotion of real opportunities, advice and effects of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency in households in the Municipality of Olovo.

This project is supported through the Czech Development Cooperation Program, for a period of 6 months.
